Northern Flicker

Not my favorite way to take a nature photo.  I would have preferred to get this shot while the northern flicker was in a tree or on the grass. This is the best shot I was able to get. Aren't the feather patterns interesting? I am pretty sure this is a young male, looks like the red feathers are coming in on his head. If you look closely, you will see that the edges of the wing feathers are orange. The undersides of the tail feathers are also orange. I love watching these birds, their antics are always entertaining.

The most important is the observation :)

W moim kraju ten gatunek nie występuje. Wydaję się bardzo interesującym :)

Greetings from Poland :))
